State Rent Assistance is Still Needed in Ohio
GOPC does not provide direct legal or cash assistance to tenants facing eviction, however, we are supportive of measures that would protect renters negatively affected by the pandemic. The need for emergency rent assistance is great; experts estimate between 29 million and 40 million renters nationwide could be at risk of eviction by the end of the year, a crises which could impact approximately 33% of all renters in Ohio.
The Pennsylvania Neighborhood Assistance Program Uses State Incentives to Drive Neighborhood Investment
The Pennsylvania Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) provides tax credits in return for financial contributions that support programming and projects serving low-income residents or distressed neighborhoods. The NAP helps aggregate corporate contributions and donations to incentivize revitalization in the state’s previously disinvested communities.
