Budget season is underway, with the Governor's Executive Budget introduced on February 3. While the Brownfield Remediation Program was included in the budget, its funding is not at the level brownfields advocate would like to see for the next two years.
Over the past few months, GOPC has met with members of the Ohio House and Senate to discuss the importance of a continued investment in the brownfield grant program. Additionally, GOPC is working with legislators who last week introduced House Bill 93, with the goal of including this language in the budget.
Last week, GOPC hosted a webinar for brownfield advocates with information about our ongoing work to secure long term funding for the Brownfield Remediation Program.
