Over four weeks, we will be featuring the finalists for the 2022 Greater Ohio Sustainable Development Awards, which will be announced at the 2022 Greater Ohio Summit. Each week will feature a brief summary of each award and the finalists for the awards, including why they have been nominated for this distinction.
Finalists for the Public Sector, Private Sector and Nonprofit of the Year can be found here.
This week, we present the last group of finalists, those who have been nominated for the Catalytic Partnership Award. This Award recognizes a cross-sector partnership that has had a measurably positive impact in a community or region in Ohio, and represents a model for creative and effective collaboration. Communities are strengthened when sectors work together to meet common goals for sustainable development.
Finalist Number 1: Dayton Arcade. The Dayton Arcade is a catalytic downtown property that is supporting entrepreneurs, artists, and residents. The Dayton Arcade was made possible by complex and varied financing, private, educational, and nonprofit commitments, and a shared commitment among leaders in the city.
Finalist Number 2: Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition. The Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition is a partnership of many public, private, nonprofit, and resident partnership components. The Coalition are working to prevent children in Cleveland from being poisoned by lead found in aged structures and pipes. The Coalition’s efforts have resulted in policy change, financial resources, technical expertise, and will produce true, generational change, in Ohio’s largest legacy city.
Finalist Number 3: Hancock Helps!. Hancock Helps! is a 1-stop smart phone app and website that helps Hancock County residents quickly find housing and other support services. This app was created through partnership of philanthropy, nonprofits, and local governments.
The winner of the Catalytic Partnership Award, along with the winners in the three other categories, will be announced at the Keynote Luncheon during the 2022 Greater Ohio Summit.
