Two organizations GOPC works with, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and CityWide Development Corporation, currently have opening for positions. We wanted to share these opportunities with our followers.
Vice President of Neighborhood Marketing – Cleveland Neighborhood Progress
The Vice President of Neighborhood Marketing & Media is an experienced and energetic marketing or communications professional who provides leadership in promoting Cleveland neighborhoods and communities to key external and internal audiences.
This individual will accomplish that work by elevating the organizations and partnerships that serve Cleveland neighborhoods, including CNP, its subsidiaries Village Capital Corporation and New Village Corporation, community development corporations, and other partners in the community development industry. This individual is a strong collaborator who identifies opportunities to integrate core messages with those of CNP’s partners. The VP of Neighborhood Marketing should be a skilled practitioner of marketing or communications and take joy in coaching and working with others to build their own capacity to engage in this work.
The Vice President of Neighborhood Marketing will be responsible for building and advancing an integrated marketing strategy for CNP, its subsidiaries, and the network of CDCs that serve Cleveland neighborhoods. Key audiences include CNP’s network of partners and funders; CDC leaders, staff, and board members; professionals in the real estate industry, including appraisers, realtors, developers, and brokers; and homebuyers who should be looking at Cleveland neighborhoods.
Community Development Corporation Relations Manager – Cleveland Neighborhood Progress
The Community Development Corporation (CDC) Relationship Manager (RM) position will serve a portfolio of Cleveland CDCs. They will be responsible for developing strong relationships with each organization and serving as specialists in community development tools, services and products. Strong candidates will be resourceful and innovative in their efforts to support diverse organizations with customized approaches for each. Through on-site visits they will work with staff and leadership, and broker access to CNP services, coordinate program reviews related to the maturity model and support their portfolio to succeed in their action plans. Where needed CDCRMs support organizations in advancing board development through responsive tools and trainings. CDCRMs are instrumental in reviewing and evaluating requests for funding CDCs and may partner with CDCs in strategic thinking and visioning. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of CDC Advancement and Resilience.
The SVP of Equitable Neighborhood Revitalization will closely collaborate with the SVP of CDC Advancement & Resilience, the CDC Relationship Managers and the President of VCC. Another core responsibility will be to determine the best way to further integrate NVC and its Board into CNP to best meet the equitable development goals of the strategic plan. The SVP of Equitable Neighborhood Revitalization and President of NVC reports to the Chief of Staff & Operations with a dotted line to CEO & President.
The CDC Relationship Managers, and CNP’s new Neighborhood Planning & Advisory Services Team, under the SVP of Equitable Neighborhood Revitalization, will assemble partners necessary for CDCs to execute their neighborhood plans. The Neighborhood Planning & Advisory Services Team will consist of CNP staff with expertise in planning, real estate, economic development, workforce development, green space, parks, sustainability alignment, climate change planning, and other areas of community development.
Through 2022, CNP’s Vice President of Real Estate, that reports to the SVP of Equitable Neighborhood Revitalization, will work with the SVP, Cleveland’s CDCs, housing partners, and intermediaries like CHN, CCLRC, NDC, Enterprise, and LISC, to develop a comprehensive strategy to rebuild real estate capacity in Cleveland’s neighborhoods. This rebuilding might range from ensuring that every CDC has the capacity to develop a scope of work for home repair in their neighborhoods to a network of CDC CHDO’s to execute larger housing and mixed-use projects. Along the way, it will be critical to develop a training regimen offered by CNP and providers like NDC and NeighborWorks to develop the real estate capacity of CDC staff.
Community Development Planner – CityWide Development Corporation
The Community Development Planner will play a lead role in the planning, development, and management of community plans and projects, which includes building relationships with residents, businesses, and institutions within the community. The ideal candidate will have experience leading effective public engagement and thrive on collaboration and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders to actively engage them with CityWide’s community development work. The candidate would be part of a community development team that is advancing community and economic development strategies in urban neighborhoods throughout Dayton. The individual would help design and execute programs and projects that advance neighborhood goals and build the capacity of residents and local groups.
