Greater Ohio Policy Center is once again being recognized for our work, most recently being cited by the Columbus Dispatch’s editorial board for our work providing policy solutions to strengthen Ohio’s water and sewer infrastructure.
In 2017, GOPC released our report Strengthening Ohio’s Water Infrastructure: Financing and Policy, with the support of the Ohio Water Development Authority. In that report, GOPC found that Ohio would need to invest $27 billion over the next 20 years to ensure the infrastructure is in place to provide clean drinking water and adequate treatment of wastewater and stormwater.
This Dispatch cited this as one of several arguments against proposed rules by the Federal EPA to repeal existing clean water regulations and replace them with rules that have been described by many as a giant step backwards in terms of building on the success that has been made over the past 50 years since the Cuyahoga River caught fire in 1969.
We appreciate the continued recognition of our research. To read about our other work, be sure to check-out the Issues tab on our website.
