Ohio’s position as the 7th greatest GDP producing state in the country is due, in large part, to the contributions our manufacturing and agricultural economies have made for decades.
Even as Ohio’s prevalent industries shift, the state’s economic dominance still comes from places that are now legacy cities and regions: those places that have lost population and
industry and are reinventing themselves. Despite the transitions Ohio’s legacy communities have experienced, they continue to have an essential role as places where people live and generate prosperity.
