The Restoring Our Prosperity Policy Summit is the product of an initiative led by Greater Ohio Policy Center and the Metropolitan Policy Program at Brookings Institution. The Summit was the center piece of a multi-year research, policy development, and networking effort to revitalize Ohio’s core communities, create new opportunities for the people of Ohio, and invigorate the state’s economy.
Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and key legislative leaders joined more than a thousand Ohioans to outline policy reforms needed to reinvigorate struggling communities across the state. The summit brought together a remarkable cross-section of the state’s government, education, business, neighborhood and civic leadership to chart a policy strategy. Multiple media agencies covered the event including The Columbus Dispatch, The Plain Dealer and NPR.
Comments from the gathering will help to shape a final report to be released in early 2009 which will build upon current recommendations for state and local policy changes. The final report will be written by the Greater Ohio Policy Center and the Washington-based Brookings Institution, co-sponsors of the summit. We encourage you to submit feedback with our online Comment Form as it is vital to the success of Ohio's economy.
