Advancing Reforms for a Diversified Transportation System

GOPC is developing and advancing policies to support additional funding for public transit systems and multi-modal options throughout the state, as well as investment in existing infrastructure. 

As a member of the Access Ohio 2040 Steering Committee and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Ohio Statewide Transit Needs Study Steering Committee, GOPC has provided expert advice on and successfully advanced recommendations for statewide transportation funding priorities and long-term planning.

Active Transportation

GOPC also supports Active Transportation Policy, otherwise known as Complete Streets. Currently Ohio does not have a robust statewide complete streets policy, although fifteen local municipalities and four metropolitan planning organizations have passed resolutions or local ordinances in support of Complete Streets.
